Florida State RB Pender has collapsed lung

Florida State junior running back Mario Pender has spent the past two days in a hospital, stemming from a collapsed lung he suffered during Tuesday’s practice.

Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said Pender was injured when he ran into the back of a teammate who was blocking. Pender completed the practice but was having breathing difficulties.

“There’s a possibility, they said he can play in 10-12 days so I don’t know,” Fisher told reporters. “Saw him in the hospital (Wednesday) night, a freak thing. I mean just a bump, not even a hard shot.”

Pender has rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown over the first three games.
